How to Speed Up NetSuite

As a NetSuite consultant, I’ve noticed that experience allows you to work much faster in NetSuite. However, for that to happen, the system itself also needs to perform quickly. I’d like to share a few tips on how to improve the speed and performance of NetSuite.

In today’s fast-paced business environment, optimizing the performance of your NetSuite instance is crucial for ensuring smooth operations and improving the user experience. By addressing common performance bottlenecks, you can significantly enhance the efficiency and productivity of your NetSuite environment.

In this blog series, I will explore six key strategies to achieve optimal performance, ranging from eliminating unnecessary scripts to implementing error logging. Let’s dive in.

1. Eliminate Unnecessary Scripts, Workflows, and User Events

One of the primary causes of slow NetSuite performance is the presence of unnecessary scripts, workflows, and user events. Regularly review your environment and disable any inactive or obsolete scripts that are no longer needed.

By reducing the processing load on the system, you can significantly improve response times and speed up critical operations.

2. Leverage Caching for Large Pages

Large pages that require extensive data retrieval and processing can significantly impact performance. Implement caching mechanisms to store frequently accessed data and reduce the number of repeated database queries.

At The Next Digitals, we have developed a custom caching solution that stores frequently used data to improve performance. By caching large pages, response times can be greatly improved, resulting in a smoother user experience.

In this first part, we covered two essential aspects of optimizing your NetSuite environment: eliminating unnecessary scripts, workflows, and user events, and leveraging caching for improved performance.

By streamlining your NetSuite setup, you can significantly improve both productivity and user satisfaction.

To further enhance NetSuite performance, we also offer a dedicated tool that can be implemented together with your team. This tool is specifically designed for NetSuite and can improve loading times for both native and custom pages by two to five times. It is scalable and easy to maintain, even for non-developers.

Join me next week as we continue exploring NetSuite optimization. In Part 2, we will dive deeper into Saved Searches and SuiteScript and reveal additional strategies to further improve your NetSuite system.
